Excellent country getaway

Main bed and pillows and linen were very comfortable, towels lovely kitchen, dining and living room great all being in one, loved the wood fire place. Great area for where we needed to be. Thank you.

Well equipped house with kangaroos and parrots on the property

The location was great and it was wonderful to see the kangaroos in the back yard and hear the birds and frogs. It was beautifully quiet and dark. The house itself was very well equipped and the owner was helpful and responsive.

Englewood was a great place to stay, perfect location in the Hunter area with everything you need for a winter escape with friends. Kitchen well kitted out, and the fireplace with a good supply of wood was very welcome. Mike Bosch very friendly and communicative.

Spotless, beautiful property with ample room to relax in – all 3 generations plus a dog loved our stay! For those with dogs, the outdoor area was perfect and had good fencing (unless you have a notorious escapee). Perfect location- a short drive to nearby wineries /attractions but far enough away it felt like an escape. The host (Mike) was great with communicating and super flexible.

Perfect paradise

Well located, and perfectly situated to take advantage of the pastoral, Englewood Ridge was ideal for our group. The kitchen was so well appointed that we could eat in at night. We look forward to returning when covid doesn’t disrupt our plans and our entire group can enjoy the delights. Thank you Michael! Your thoughtful hospitality is greatly appreciated.

The house was comfortable, well equipped and in a lovely location. We could sit on the back verandah and watch the kangaroos grazing. We loved that we could take our dog. Good communication from the host. We all wanted to stay longer!

A Hunter escape

The house was exactly what we wanted, large lounge rooms, well equipped kitchen, covered outdoor areas that provided extra space in any weather and glorious views across the valley.The property is pet friendly allowing the whole family to enjoy, surrounded by land encouraging walks amongst the kangaroos and birds. The location is excellent and Michael was very good to communicate with and made us feel very welcome.

Amazing place!

We absolutely loved the place! it is 1000 percent better than expected! the pictures do not fully show how good the place is and it has so many things like all utensils, cooking equipment, coffee machine, hair dryer and even a cocktail shaker. Very convenient, great location, beautiful scenery! The hosts are wonderful, kind and responsive! Thank you so much, we will definitely coming back!

40th Birthday weekend getaway

Our group of friends had a lovely time celebrating one of our friends’ 40th birthday at this lovely Hunter valley home. We started off our weekend by visiting some wineries (and picking up a few cases of wine across them) before checking in, enjoying an afternoon by the pool and then a rainy night in! Sunday was also rainy but the house was so spacious and had generous undercover outdoor areas so we didn’t feel like we are locked in at all! The property is large and beautiful for walks. We saw a gorgeous small pack of roos and all in all it was a great time. Thank you for a wonderful stay Mike and Louise.

An excellent place to stay close to the Hunter Valley wineries

We self-catered but found the house well stocked with all we might have needed. For example there was a coffee machine with an excellent variety of pods provided, the laundry had supplies of washing powder and there was plenty of firewood for the fire. We enjoyed walking around the property and fed the kangaroos which came very close to the house at dusk. It was very close to all the facilities we wanted to explore.

The property is very clean, tidy, spacious and beautiful.

It’s a beautiful big house with a beautiful view. There are so many comfortable bed options. Our group of 7 had more than enough room. The linen, beds and pillows were all great quality and extremely comfortable. We loved the two living rooms, massive kitchen with absolutely everything you could think of, the three bathrooms and outdoor area. Often when we go away, there is not enough cutlery and crockery for all of us. It was a very pleasant surprise for us that there was more than enough of everything you could need in a kitchen. The huge dining table was also big enough for all of us to sit at together. The fire place and wood pile were also very well received. We truly had the loveliest time there. We have already started to plan our next adventure to Englewood. The owner, Mike, was warm, friendly, helpful and very informative of what to do in the area.

Mike’s place is lovely – spacious and accommodating for a large family group and dogs, and with everything you would want for a weekend away. Beautifully situated – it feels out of the hustle and bustle, and yet is very close to it all. Mike was very kind and very helpful with getting everything organised. We would love to come back and stay again.

We had a wonderful Easter at the house, spending time with friends and fur-friends. Thankfully the weather was still warm enough for the kids to brave the pool, and the adults under duress! Plenty of room for everyone or time out if needed and close to all the best of the Hunter region if you can be bothered leaving the house to explore

Hi Mike, thank you for letting us use your home, we had a really great time. Fantastic setting, beautiful views and so peaceful. The house was certainly big enough for us all and everyone remarked at how well equipped the kitchen was. The pool was a real winner in that awful heatwave so was used a lot. Very refreshing. The house was so close to everything.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay there again so thank you once again.

Great place located in the hunter valley. Close to wineries, golf courses and the view is amazing from the back deck. Mike ‘s communication was great and provided all the info needed to have a great time away.

Lovely place to relax and spend a weekend away with friends

Renting the property from Mike was extremely easy. He made sure to answer all of our questions prior to our arrival. The property was in an amazing area and was immaculate. Couldn’t have asked for a better holiday.

We had the most relaxing time. Mike was amazing to communicate with. The house was well centered to the vineyards – especially being able to walk to Wandin Estate!! The dog loved the space to just run and the boys loved riding down the hill and swimming in the pool. Whole heartedly recommend this property to anyone considering a stay in the Hunter.

The house was fantastic for families and groups. We were a family (3 generations) of 6 plus dog but it is also perfect for larger groups as there are two large sitting areas and two dining areas, plus two sofa beds if required. Having 3 bathrooms is definitely a plus. Very nicely furnished with great artwork. The pool was great as it was 33 degrees when we arrived! Having 25 acres to roam plus kangaroos in the morning and at dusk pretty hard to beat! I had a few questions about the area and the house and Mike went out of his way to respond very quickly, plus contacting others to provide info I requested. Lovedale is the perfect location. The house was perfect for our dinners, because in the Hunter many restaurants aren’t open every night for dinner. Lunches we enjoyed included the ploughman’s platter at Wandin with a great Rose and Blanc de Blanc (right next door), The Deck Cafe at Gartelmann Wines, Muse Kitchen at Keith Tulloch Wines and Leaves & Fishes in Lovedale Road. The Binorrie Dairy is a wonderful shop for cheese, olive oil, caramelised vinegar, charcuterie and wooden trays. Tatler is a lovely family run winery with most of their wines named after family, friends and even a dog. We also love Lake’s Folly. And Hanging Tree has great atmosphere and is quite quirky and picturesque. Our grandsons enjoyed the giant chess set there (although you can’t play at the moment because of Covid). We really recommend a stay at Englewood Ridge when in the Hunter.

A magical country getaway A beautifully kept, well-loved and welcoming holiday home. Perfectly located for long walks, bike-riding and wine-tasting. Generous and hospitable hosts. Accommodated two families of four and our two dogs very comfortably. We will definitely be back!!

We had the pleasure of staying at Mike and Louise’s place and we are really glad we did. It was a lovely escape with our children and dogs who all enjoyed everything the property had to offer. They even went above and beyond by supplying a lovely smelling pine tree for our Christmas celebrations, fantastic hosts nothing was a problem. We’ll be back!

Our stay at Englewood was brilliant. We wanted for nothing as the house was so well equipped. Close enough to the winerys but not right in the middle of it, so peaceful. The pool was excellent for a cool down after a hot Hunter day. Mike was so helpful and contact was always open and easy.

Great place to retreat from the city. I held a small work function there and I had absolutely no complaints from all colleagues. The place was very clean with the outside area a particular delight.

A beautiful space that is tremendously well appointed. With 4 adults and 4 children we had more space than we needed for a weekend of RnR and separation from the noisy children!  The saltwater pool, which is shaded by a tree for most of the morning, is a boon in summer, and the effective air conditioning made bearable the 46 degree heat of our stay. Mike is an amazing host who could not have helped us more, we will certainly be returning.

This was a fabulous location! We enjoyed watching all the kangaroos grazing and a dip in the pool.

We booked as a family group ranging in age from 2 years to over 70 – house worked brilliantly with children able to have naps in bedroom wing while other guests still able to socialise without worrying about waking them. Fabulous views over Hunter Valley. Regular visits from kangaroos. House is very well equipped and you will not find a more hospitable or thoughtful host. Well done Mike & Louise. The house offered great comfort during both cooler and hot days. The pool was great to cool down and the deck was great for the adults who thoroughly enjoyed the view with kangaroos at our doorstep. And even our pets had a great time with plenty of room to run and a fenced area to keep them close by. The kitchen is great with every utensil you can think of. The two seating/TV rooms came handy for when adults and kids needed their own space and the air conditioning in these was an absolute must in the high 30s temperature days! Mike is a thoughtful host that certainly made sure we were looked after.

Wonderful. The home is exactly as described by the website. We had a lovely family Christmas here. Great location. The house is huge, comfortable, restful and clean, and allowed us to cook at home throughout our stay in either the fantastic kitchen or bbq, or both. The pool was as lovely bonus given it was 45 degrees for most of our stay. Oh, and the air conditioner worked a treat, so much so we nicknamed the house the fridge! Thanks Mike. We’ll be back in Winter. My Mum and Aunt will be in contact soon too!

This is a spacious, well furnished and fitted house with lots of thoughtful extras. We booked from the UK and it was perfect for us and our grandchildren. We had a lovely pool and 25 acres of natural bush to explore, full of birds and kangaroos., Although very quiet and peaceful we had easy access to supermarkets, wineries and the cheese and chocolate shops – we will worry about the calories when we get home. Thank you Mike and Louise and we very much hope to visit again.

For our regular visits to the Hunter Valley, Englewood Ridge is our first choice of accommodation. The house sits along the ridge commanding magnificent views over the valley and the Brokenback Mountains. The house is beautifully appointed with every conceivable convenience for year round comfort. The pool is a welcome retreat in the summer and the log fire and reverse cycle air conditioning keep you cosy in the winter. The house is situated close to Lovedale and Pokolbin wineries and is surrounded by 20 acres of undulating paddocks that are home to a plethora of wildlife including kangaroos, wallabies and wombats. I can highly recommend Englewood Ridge for your next Hunter Valley holiday.
